Don't let Bailey's rough big-league debut distract you from his enormous potential. A groin injury sidelined him for a chunk of last season, but his finish in the big leagues -- with the exception of his final start of the year -- helped put health concerns behind him.
When Bailey is 100 percent, he's got ace potential with two plus pitches in his fastball and curve, along with an improving changeup. He also seems like a good candidate to avoid arm trouble as he's had good mechanics ever since he was a high schooler in the 2004 draft class. He'll turn just 22 in the early stages of the 2008 season -- a perfect time for him to arrive full-time on the big-league scene.
